THE CURVUSCULAR™ WORKOUT: DAY 3
By Dany Garcia
DAY 3. RECOVER OR CONDITION
OPTION A · REST
Take the day off from structured exercise. Normal walking and everyday movement are appropriate. Choose rest when fatigue is significant, sleep or recovery has been poor, or another training stimulus would take more than it gives.
Rest isn't a gap in the plan. It's programmed into it.
OPTION B · ZONE 2
20–40 minutes. Start around 20 minutes if you are newer to conditioning; build toward 30–40 minutes if already conditioned.
• Walking or incline treadmill
• Cycling
• Elliptical
• Swimming
• Rowing
• Another sustainable rhythmic cardiovascular activity
Intensity cue: you should know you're exercising, but still be able to speak in sentences. The goal is aerobic development without creating fatigue that interferes with Day 4.
Build the engine. Protect the strength work.
TRAINING NOTE
Exercise is individual. If you are new to resistance training or have pain, injury, balance limitations, pregnancy or postpartum considerations, osteoporosis, cardiovascular conditions or other medical circumstances that may affect exercise, seek appropriate guidance from a qualified healthcare or fitness professional.
